Tendulkar was welcomed with a guard of honour to the ground. There was a farewell celebration in the Mumbai dressing room as well ahead of the day. Mumbai, needing 39 more to win, looked up
to Tendulkar to take them home. He had to lead Dhawal Kulkarni  along the way and he did that expertly as always.Harshal Patel was nippy and hit Tendulkar on the pads a few times, none of the appeals
were upheldthough.Tendulkar waited for the bad ball before playing a forceful stroke. 

Nudges and glances were plentiful and he ran energetically between the wickets to chip away at the deficit. Dhawal Kulkarni had a simple role to play. Just hang around and give the strike to Sachin.He did that adequately enough with Tendulkar in his ear constantly.There was a tap of the gloves after every delivery successfully negotiated even as Ajay Jadeja tried to motivate his team to keep going. Haryana caught the eye with their never say die attitude.Even when the runs needed reached single digits, there was no let 
down in intensity.

Jadeja was attacking the fields and adding pressure on Dhawal but the youngster kept his cool.He was hit on the helmet by Mohit Sharma was unflinched and went on to hit the winning boundary. Tendulkar remained unbeaten on 79 where the partnership was worth 50.
